Bamboo has various type of bamboos. This picture is GOSANCHIKU Bamboo. This type of bamboo is very thin. Someone told me that this bamboo type is very good taste. By the way, Bamboo is not for tools or coal. We eat bamboo when it is young. I mean before the bamboo grow. Bamboo grows very fast. It take about 3 years. Madake or Mousourin is about 25 M long. It has 10cm thick. Next time I will study about bamboo types.

Today, I went to cut bamboo for Japanese festival in Oita. I am going to talk about the festival in November. For here, I want to share about how Japanese used the bamboo for their lives. Lately, most of people face to how human should protect nature. It is good thing. However, how do human protect the nature or forest? Our young age will think about these.

Don’t cut woods.

Don’t touch and leave it alone.

How about elder people think to use the bamboo. Use the bamboo for their lives.

Elder people think human has to take care of the nature or forest. They think the bamboo has to cut by human. Because bamboo is not useful leaving in the forest. Bamboo grows very fast but it cause a few problems such as they don’t absorb water. This means the bamboo is not useful for protecting mountain from strong rain. And when the bamboo gets long, it blocks sun light inside of forest.

OK, these are how elder Japanese people used the bamboo in old era.

Chopstick

Dish

cup

box

Light case

Teapot

Lunch box

Basket

I think there are more products in old era. But it take so long time to make. That is way it cost much. Lately, we use oil resource for meal dishes.

Can you see these differences between present and old era? If we learn old life style, it heals our world. We don’t need any chemical tools. Nature and human life were good family in old era. But now we breaks this rules. So, now I face to this issues. Next month, I will smoked bamboo.

I have decided to learn about bamboo such as smoking and cutting. I know it takes some times but it is needed in Japan. Today, I have talked to Mr.Kojyo who is main person of NPO. He said there is a huge distance between elder who knows how to live with nature and younger age who does not know how to survive with nature. This mean Japanese people will face to a big problem in the future especially taking care of our nature. Nobody can not take care of our forest at all. Here are what I have learned from Mr,Kojyo.

No young age to take care of forest

Bamboo can use for anything and it was used for all in old era.

This issues are big problem in any other world. I guess. So, I have decided to learn something at least from Mr, Kojyo. These are my next steps for bamboo.

Cutting Bamboo

Smoking bamboo

creating vase or candle cases

bamboo liquid

Bamboo Liquid

A couple weeks ago, I used the liquid for my finger because it has itch. But now it is ok. It heals with new skin. But it take a long time and has strong smell. This smell is too strong. So, it needs to be fixed if people use for medical.

When you look up above image, it is not normal bamboo color. It is smoked bamboo. It takes about 10 days. Good thing is the color. I have never seen such color in nature. It is just smoked. This kind of color is like old Japanese furniture. It gives us calm feelings. we love that. Here I want to show you some rare bamboo product lists. You might have interest.

Smoked products such as vase, cup, dish and chopstick.

Bamboo coal

Bamboo liquid

Smoked Bamboo. This product is as I stated above. This method will used for craft work also.

Bamboo Coal. This product is for agriculture or BBQ as coal. And it works as deodorant for car, room and kitchen.

Bamboo Liquid. This liquid is also for agriculture as insect repellent or antibacterial action. And it heals your body such as athlete’s foot or atopy. However, this potency is not guaranteed by medical team. So, I have tried my body right now. My finger is itchy right now. I will let you know how it goes.
