Mr.Zingo started to create his new Plaster Art. He usually works on this outside of room. But when it is warm!!

His Tool is called KOTE. It is not knife. The tool is used for Soil Wall. Most of Japanese old house were made from soil wall. He said no one sharpen this tool. But he does it because he wants to feel it what he wants. It is hard to explain but he wants to feel it. So, usually he create his own tool. He has strong feeling with his plaster art, too.

In April, Mr.Zingo was so busy with other jobs. But in May, he is going to work on new design. This design is based on his friend. If you see his plaster art page, you can find “Mother Child”. It is his friend’s design.

His basic design is always simple. There is no image of how he create such 3D plaster art. He said “I don’t know. I just feel it and do it!”.

In Japan, the beginning of May is Golden week season which people have a long vacation. But it is just one week. After this brake, he will work on this new plaster design. I will try to keep up on his Plaster Design.

Mr.Zingo likes to draw Dragon and Phoenix. He does not have any reason if he likes it.

He said old style of Japanese plaster is not alive. The face is dead. So, his point is the face if it is alive or not. He created original style of Plaster art. Japanese Plaster art is called KOTEE.

KOTE means “one of tool for plastering work”. E means drawing or painting in Japanese. He does not like to do normal or if it is not fun.

I met Japanese Traditional Plaster artist who live in Oita city. His name is Zingo. He lives in near my house. It takes just five minute by car.

It is hard to explain. At first, just take a look.

In Edo era 1600s, Chohachi Irie started wall art by using plaster.

Plaster was used for house wall. The plaster has these powers.

Waterproof

Nonburnable

Humidity conditioning

Therefore, this plaster was used for most of old houses such as merchant house or temple.

I have just met him a couple weeks ago. His style is not perfectly same as old era. He focuses on face and depth.
